Mediaeval graffitti Empty

People may be interested in this article on Mediaeval graffitti found in churches (well, it's *kind of* a form of illumination...). Although personally I don't believe the claim that the second image shows a straw effigy - it looks to me like a caricature of some Tudor bigwig wearing the latest fashion. It could even be a preliminary concept-doodle for one of Holbein's portraits of Fat Harry - I wonder if Holbein ever frequented this church?

Thanks! I agree with you on the "straw king".
