Richard's castle circuit Empty
PostSubject: Richard's castle circuit   Richard's castle circuit EmptyMon 24 Mar 2014, 18:57

I'm curious about how Richard, as Duke of Gloucester, went about visiting each of the castles in his keeping. Did he have a set circuit, so that people knew that if they wished to see him dispense justice at their nearby Great Hall, he would be there on such-and-such a date?

I get the impression that when he wasn't at Westminster, most of his time was spent being a sort of circuit judge, a magistrate of the most exalted kind.
