| Blog entry by Norman Housley dated 20 March 2014. Housley is Professor of History in the School of Historical Studies at the University of Leicester. Entry discusses the conversation Richard had with Nicholas von Poppelau (a Silesian ambassador of the Holy Roman Emperor Frederick III) in May of 1484. Link included at the bottom of the blog to "Meeting Richard". This is an article dating from January 2014 written by Lin Foxhall, Head of the School of Archaeology and Ancient History at the University of Leicester, wherein she considers how the new discoveries might throw new light on old accounts of Richard III. In her article, Foxhall references Rous's second chronicle (written during the reign of Henry VII and critical of Richard), but does not mention that he attempted to destroy the first draft he made, which praised Richard during his reign. | |
